Australian environment and sustainability writer
I’m an environment, climate and sustainability copywriter, content writer and freelance writer based in Australia. I work with good-hearted people to help create change for the better.
I live on Bundjalung Country in the Clarence Valley / Northern Rivers NSW and work remotely with clients and organisations around Australia.
I’m a nature lover, garden grower, tea drinker and environmental scientist turned writer. I love a good story. Because I believe that stories can change the world.
Above all, I believe in the power of using words as a force for good. For me, it’s just second nature.
I’ve written and created memorable content for some of the biggest names in the game including WWF-Australia, dirtgirlworld, NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, NSW Environment Protection Authority, WorkForClimate and Brookfarm. This includes blog posts, articles, website copy, educational programs and campaign copy for national audiences.
I’ve worked on national climate and renewables campaigns, inspiring children’s sustainability programs, created sustainability stories for forward-thinking businesses and so much more.
With a love of the Australian landscape and stories about people and business, I’ve also written content for tourism destinations like Coffs Coast Tourism, Clarence Valley Tourism and Wolgan Valley in the Greater Blue Mountains.
I’m also a freelance feature writer with articles published in Australian Traveller, SBS Food, Outback, ABC Organic Gardener, Time to Roam, Go Camping and City Permaculture. If there’s a good story, I’ll find it.
Why work with me?
I have a degree in environmental science and more than 20 years of experience in the environment, climate, sustainability and nature tourism industries.
So, I have expert understanding of these ever-changing fields. I also have a graduate certificate in environmental education which means I have inside knowledge of how to educate and inspire people to change behaviours or take action to help the environment.
Before starting my own business, I spent many years working on environment and sustainability policy, projects and communications for state and federal environment government agencies.
In fact, I started my career working for Australia’s first dedicated climate change agency where I worked on industry emissions reports, before moving into climate science and agriculture.
I’ve worked on tourism and conservation marketing campaigns, renewable energy, sustainable industries, Aboriginal cultural heritage, water policy, environmental education, threatened species and national parks – plus much more.
In 2016, I made the big leap into self-employment because I wanted to broaden my impact and help other people be part of the solution by writing smart stories and content with purpose.
I’m a proud supporter of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
