Australian environment and sustainability writer
I’m an environment, climate and sustainability copywriter, content specialist and freelance writer based in Australia. I work with good-hearted people to help create change and tell stories for a better world.
I live on Bundjalung Country in the Clarence Valley / Northern Rivers NSW and work remotely with clients, organisations and writers around Australia.
I’m a nature lover, garden grower, tea drinker and environmental scientist turned writer. I love a good story. Because I believe that stories can change the world.
Above all, I believe in the power of using words as a force for good. For me, it’s just second nature.
I’ve written and created high-impact articles and content for some of the biggest names in the game including WWF-Australia, dirtgirlworld, NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, NSW Environment Protection Authority, WorkForClimate and AgriFutures Australia. This includes blog posts, articles, website copy, educational programs and campaign copy for national audiences.
I’ve worked on influential climate and renewables campaigns, popular children’s environmental education programs, created sustainability brand stories for forward-thinking businesses and so much more.
With a love of the Australian landscape and stories about people and business, I’ve also written stories and content for tourism destinations like Coffs Coast Tourism, Clarence Valley Tourism and Wolgan Valley in the Greater Blue Mountains.
I’m also a freelance feature writer with articles published in Australian Traveller, SBS Food, Outback, ABC Organic Gardener, Oak Magazine, Time to Roam, Go Camping and City Permaculture. If there’s a good story, I’ll find it.
Why work with me?
I have a degree in environmental science and more than 20 years of experience in the environment, climate, sustainability and nature tourism industries.
So, I have expert understanding of these ever-changing fields. I also have a graduate certificate in environmental education which means I have inside knowledge of how to educate and inspire people to change behaviours or take action to help the environment.
Before starting my own business, I spent many years working on environment and sustainability policy, projects and communications for state and federal environment government agencies.
In fact, I started my career working for Australia’s first dedicated climate change agency where I worked on industry emissions reports, before moving into climate science and agriculture.
I’ve worked on tourism and conservation marketing campaigns, renewable energy, sustainable industries, Aboriginal cultural heritage, water policy, environmental education, threatened species and national parks – plus much more.
In 2016, I started my own business because I wanted to broaden my impact and help others be part of the solution.
