About me

Australian Environment, Sustainability & Impact Communications Specialist

Hi, I’m Justine – an environmental scientist turned writer, storyteller and communications specialist.

I live on Bundjalung Country in the Clarence Valley (Northern Rivers NSW), and work remotely with good-hearted clients and purpose-driven organisations across Australia.

I’m a nature lover, tiny garden grower, dedicated tea drinker and learn-as-I-go mum. I live in a country town with my husband and daughter. I’m also part of the dirtgirlworld team – a sun-powered, hot-house of creative storytellers dedicated to growing a better planet for children, families and communities.

At the heart of it all, I just love a good story. Because I believe that stories can change our world.

Above all, I love using the power of words and storytelling as a force for good. For me, it’s just second nature.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of creating communications and content for organisations including WWF-Australia, mememe productions, NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, NSW Environment Protection Authority, WorkForClimate and AgriFutures Australia.

My work spans strategic messaging, editorial content, educational resources, case studies, campaign copy and digital communications.

These projects have reached national audiences through campaigns, programs and publications – from environmental education and climate advocacy to wildlife conservation, regenerative agriculture, carbon farming, clean energy and climate investment. Each piece is designed to inform, inspire and activate – supporting social impact, systems change and community engagement.

With a deep love of place and regional communities, I’ve also helped showcase unique Australian destinations through storytelling and editorial content for Clarence Valley Tourism, Coffs Coast Tourism, and Wolgan Valley in the Greater Blue Mountains.

My feature articles have appeared in Australian TravellerSBS FoodOutbackABC Organic Gardener, Oak Magazine, Time to Roam, Go Camping and City Permaculture.

Why work with me?

I bring over 20 years of experience in climate, environment, sustainability and communications.

I hold a degree in environmental science, with majors in social policy and development, environmental economics and policy, and planning.

I also hold a graduate certificate in environmental education, with expertise in educating and motivating diverse audiences to shift behaviours.

My career began at Australia’s first Federal Government climate change agency, where I focused on industry emissions reporting before expanding into climate science and agriculture.

Since then, I’ve worked across policy, projects, and communications in both state and federal governments – with roles spanning renewable energy, sustainability, water policy, national parks, threatened species, and the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Today, I help purpose-driven organisations communicate the solutions we need for a brighter, more regenerative future.

It’s time to create something good together.

I’m a proud supporter of the Northern Rivers Women’s Giving Circle. Together, we are a collective of passionate women taking action to tackle local disadvantage in our communities.
