Can you see a love heart in here? I think I can. I Can you see a love heart in here? I think I can. Is there anything else you can see? 🌱

I'm writing about nature this morning and how to care for it. Tell me, where's your favourite nature place? Where do you go when you need to feel refreshed and new?

I think my place is anywhere I can smell the eucalypts. And hear the crackle of sticks under my feet as I walk. Or the ocean. Always the ocean.

I hope you find yourself in nature this weekend. Even just for a tiny moment.

This is my fruit and veggie box that gets delivere This is my fruit and veggie box that gets delivered to our house once a week. It's full of locally grown goodness. If I was to write a book called The Lazy Person's Guide to Saving the Planet and Your Local Community, the humble local veggie box would get a whole chapter.

I love that the money I pay for this circulates locally. I love that it encourages more sustainable farmers to grow. I love that I can put my scraps into my worm farm or into my food & organics kerbside bin, so they can be turned back into beautiful compost and soil. And I love that my food hasn't travelled far to get to my door. But what I also love is that I've been able to subscribe to a fortnightly delivery so I don't even have to think about it. It just lands on my doorstep (much to my surprise and delight each time!).

Before I became a mother, I used to do ALL THE THINGS. For a time, I was the secretary and media officer for a big community garden. I would volunteer for wonderful community, music and writer's events. I would go to every inch and effort to source as much of my food as sustainability as I could (and I grew LOTS of my own).

But my life is so different now. Becoming a mother has entirely humbled me and stripped me back to the basics. I have very little free time. I'm not glorifying busy, it's just the truth. So I've had to build things back into my life slowly, bit by bit. I've had to piece back together the things that matter to me and be more creative and smarter about how I do things.

We can't do all the things all the time. So choose wisely and choose what matters to you.

Make it easy. Go hard on what you're good at and what brings a little bit of surprise and delight to your doorstep.

The rest will fall into place.

I'm almost sure of that. 🌏🌱

Happy Friday. 💛

What's your one thing that you do to help make the world a brighter and greener place?

Me on my birthday eve on the weekend. I asked my d Me on my birthday eve on the weekend. I asked my daughter to take a photo of me and this is what she got. 😊 📷 I'm usually too shy to share photos of myself, but here you go. There was lush green everywhere, $8 tacos, pomegranate and gin, Daisy Jones & The Six (if you know, you know), lorikeets trying to drink our maple syrup, plum gelato, stones thrown with a wish for the river and matching knitted mouse in a house necklaces (guess who chose those!). I wore my mouse all day and no one even batted an eyelid. But that's Bello for you. One night adventures are sometimes the best.
